Pre-Production Phase:

​

• Co-designed the original game concept and core gameplay loop, establishing the creative vision for the game, inspired by games such "Ghostrunner".​​


Production Phase:

​

• Co-Designed the Strategic Core Combat Loop.

​

(Collaborated on a unique damage system where enemies [playing cards], require a number of hits equal to their rank. Upon defeat, the player's next attack deals damage equal to the defeated card's rank. This created a dynamic risk-reward strategy, encouraging players to chain kills on high-value targets to maximize damage output in the fast-paced nature of the game.)

• Implemented the Data-Driven Wave System, which was Co-Designed by me and the team.

​

(Architected and built a flexible round-based spawner in Unreal Engine 5 using data tables. Each table row defined a round's parameters, including enemy rank ranges [min/max], spawn quotas, and maximum active enemies. This system empowered efficient tuning of the game's pacing and difficulty.)

​

• Co-Designed and Balanced Core Player Abilities. 

 

(Collaborated on a range of strategic abilities—including a Double Dash, Enemy Scanner (revealing card location, suit/rank), Damage Boost, and Money Boost—to diversify player strategy and enhance the fast-paced combat. Some of these abilities stack up for a further boost, or longer scanner range for example.)

• Co-Designed a Thematic "Slot Machine" Upgrade System, which I also implemented in game.

​

(Replaced a standard shop with a randomized slot machine that, upon payment, rolls three random abilities for the player to choose from. This created high-stakes, exciting moments that perfectly complemented the game's card-based aesthetic.)

​

• Supported Level Design through active conceptualization and rigorous playtesting, providing critical feedback on pacing, flow, abilities, and the integration of mechanics like the wall-riding system and surf ramps.

​​

• Owned end-to-end UI/UX design and implementation, crafting the game's entire visual interface from wireframes to final art.

 

• Created all key UI assets, including the slot machine graphic, custom playing card art, ability icons, and more, establishing a cohesive and thematic visual identity.

 

• Designed and laid out all HUD, UI animations and menu screens, ensuring an intuitive and responsive user experience that complemented the game's fast-paced action.
